As an embedded artist, I've sought raw, human moments to see if I might string together a sequence of marks on the page that do more than simply document. These marks are a reminder that I was there. That I did not look away.​​​​​​​
The following drawings were captured over the course of eight months in the Burn Center and Cardiothoracic Units of the VCU Hospital where I served as a Clinical Professor in a non-critical role. The impact of this experience on my perspective was profound.
